Q: How much notice to I need to give to book a bouncy castle?

A: As much notice as possible. During busy times we get booked up in advance so let us know as soon as you have a date in mind and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q: Do you charge for cancellation?

We do take a £20 booking fee to be paid within 48 hours of your booking to secure the date. If you cancel your booking in less than 7 days notice 50% of the hire cost is required. Cancelling within less than 2 days notice requires the full payment to be made.

Q: How do you inflate the bouncy castle when you have delivered it? Will I be able to put it down?

A: Our bouncy castles are inflated using electric fan blowers. They are simply plugged in to a suitable socket in your house or out building; we supply a 25m extension cable and power breakers with all castles. To deflate the castle, simply unplug the fan and it will slowly collapse (make sure nobody is using the castle at the time!). We do prefer that you leave the castle inflated.

Q: What happens if it’s raining or particularly bad weather on the day of the hire?

A: If the weather is bad/raining then we will call you to say whether we will be able to deliver or not. If you decide not to go ahead with the booking due to bad weather please let us know first thing in the morning of the hire. We will be able to transfer the £20 booking fee to another date if cancelled. However once the equipment has been delivered and it rains later on during the hire there will be no refund, full hire price is required.

Q: Is Parking essential?

Parking is essential for a booking. If there is not parking within 50m this will delay set up and our drivers have the right to refuse delivery.

Q: How much space do I need for a bouncy castle?

A: Each bouncy castle or inflatable has different required space needed. Please read the description of the equipment you are hiring to see what the operating space requirements are.

Q: What kind of access do you need when you deliver the bouncy castle?

A: The bouncy castles are wheeled in to position using a sack trolley, so we will need a cleared path to get the castle in to your garden or venue. If you have a lot of steps or a tight entrance way, please let us know so that we can assess the access.

Q: Can the bouncy castles go indoors?

A: Yes the bouncy castles can go indoors but you must check the height of the ceiling before booking. The ceiling must be higher than the height of the inflatable booked. Heights of all our products are on each item description.

Q: Are you fully insured, if a child gets injured who's to blame?

A: We carry £5 million pounds worth of public liability cover, however as per our terms and conditions cannot be held liable for any injuries caused whilst the bouncy castle or inflatable is in your care. Our Public Liability covers US against set up faults or faulty equipment etc.

Q: When the bouncy castle is delivered, do I have to set it up myself or do you do it?

A: The delivery person will set up the inflatable, give you a demonstration on how to use it safely and then leave it in your control. We will then return at the end of the hire to dismantle and collect the unit.

Q: How many children/adults are allowed on the bouncy castle?

A: Each bouncy castle has different limits. Please note children's bouncy castles should never be used by heavier adults, and remember the hirer is responsible for any damage.

Q: Is it ok to put a bouncy castle on my lawn, will it cause much damage?

A: We actually prefer to put the bouncy castle on a lawn area. For safety reasons we must hammer in 6 securing pegs to hold the castle down during use. The bouncy castle will have a ground sheet placed under it so the grass will not come to any harm. The holes left over from the securing pegs will disappear after a few days.

Q: Can you put a bouncy castle on a concrete floor?

A: No. For safety reasons we do not allow our castles to be placed on hard standing floor outdoors. i.e.: concrete, decking, tarmac. If we can't peg the castles in the ground we won't be able to place it there.

Q: Am I allowed to hire a bouncy castle from you and then charge people to use it?

A: Yes you are, but there will need to be a responsible adult (18+) supervising at all times. As the hirer you are responsible for any damage or injury that may be caused.

Q: How many children can fit in a bouncy castle?

A: This really depends on the size of the children and the bouncy castle itself. Most of our bouncy castles go by a height limit rather than age, and our adult bouncy castles typically have the largest capacity. Please see the items description for the height limits.

Q: Are your units safe? Will you teach me how to have a safe day of fun?

A: Yes, they are designed from the ground up with safety in mind. In addition, we review all safety rules with you prior to use. While no one can guarantee safety, we do everything we can to promote safe use of our products to ensure your day is filled with fun, not hospital visits.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Prices start from £85 for a children's bouncy castle. All prices are on our website.

Q. What if it rains?

A: All our bouncy castles come with shower covers and all our extension leads are fully showerproof so showers won't stop play! In the event of torrential rain we may have to cancel the booking if the Castle is outside.

Q: What are the appropriate ages for bouncing?

A: We cater from toddlers to adults with our adult bouncy castles.

Q: My garden slopes - will that be OK?

A: No. The surface has to be level.

Q: Does it need electricity? How much does it use?

A: Yes. We will bring a 25m extension cord with us, so you'll need an outlet near the set up area. The blower runs continuously and uses approximately £0.18 of electricity per hour. Your blow dryer uses more than that! NOTE: All blowers and wiring are safety checked before delivery.

Q: What time do you deliver and pickup the bouncy castle?

A: Rental periods vary. You decide on the specific time you want the bouncy castle set up by and we'll have the equipment set up before that start time. It only takes approximately 20mins for a children's bouncy castle to be set up and ready to go. If you have special requirements for an exact setup or pick up time, (for example, your event is in a location that you have rented for a specific amount of time) please let us know.

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: Our office is open 7 days a week. 8am-9pm.

Q: My party is tomorrow. Can I still get a rental?

A: Maybe! Give us a call and we will try to work it in.

Q: Can I keep the bouncy castle over night?

A: No I'm afraid we do not do overnight hires.

Q: Is it cheaper if we pick up the bouncy castle ourselves?

A: No. In fact, Tilley's Bouncy Castles does not allow for this. All of our drivers are trained as professional installers and are certified by us to be the exclusive installer of our equipment. Our insurance requires that our installers do an onsite inspection as well. Where the safety of your children is concerned, we do not take any chances.
